Welcome to the blog for Vagabond Shoes, the unique radio extravaganza that appears every Saturday night from 6:00 pm to 7:30 eastern time, broadcasting from the campus of the University of Virginia on WTJU, 91.1 FM (wtju.net on the Internet) the sound choice of central Virginia. As one of the last bastions of radio where the announcers actually pick the music they play, WTJU and Vagabond Shoes are truly practicing, in the parlance of an old Apple Computer ad, “thinking different.” The show premiered on September 22, 2007 and it’s taken us this long to figure out how to put our playlists on-line. For the most part, we’ll be posting playlists, but may add other features and commentaries as suits our whims. Feel free to ask questions, comment or send money (to WTJU, not us).
