UPDATE: Snowstorms have again thwarted my ability to get to the station on Saturday. Steven Villereal has stepped into the breach to don his snow shoes once more to do a combined Vagabond Shoes/World Turning weather special.  I’ll present the special “Duke to Prince” program two weeks from now on February 20. If it snows again at that time, I may begin to think that someone in charge of climate really doesn’t like what I play.

Vagabond Shoes celebrates Black History Month on February 6 by jumping among genres to present significant African-American musicians in pop, jazz, folk, blues and rock – and whatever is in between. From Duke to Prince, from Hendrix to Holiday, from Miles and Mingus to Ike and Tina Turner, to the Godfather of Soul and Sly and the Family Stone, Odetta and Ella and Sarah.

Thanks to Steven Villereal for stepping in for snowbound David.
