No Vagabond Shoes tonight as the Classical Marathon is underway.  Here’s the pitch:

Welcome to the December Marathon! Our volunteer announcers have put together a week of splendidly varied music for your delight, as you can see in the Program Guide. Opera, arias, oratorios, sonatas, symphonies – they’re all here. Where else but on WTJU would you hear such an amazing array of music during a fundraiser?

We hope that you will be moved to make a contribution to WTJU this year. Your support – both financial and moral – gives us the confidence to continue presenting the full spectrum of classical music in the special WTJU style – i.e., uncut, uninterrupted, and announced and programmed with intelligence and imagination.

This is a critically important year for WTJU. Your gift counts now more than ever. Please help us meet our Marathon Goal of $40,000, and ensure that WTJU will continue to shine its beacon of creative programming across central Virginia.

Thank you!

The Classical Music Department, WTJU

Here’s where to go to donate. See you next week.
